Michael Shelton-Frates

Michael Shelton-Frates is a seasoned business executive, and has both human resources management and employment / labor law experience. Michael works with clients from a variety of industries to improve systems and processes, to include leadership development, regulatory compliance, human resources best practices, employee training to maximize productivity, and organizational development to enable business owners and executive management to focus on business growth. He also performs litigation support in employment and labor law matters with legal firms.

Since co-founding his human resources, safety and risk mitigation consulting firm in 2003, Michael served in various human resources specialist and managerial capacities while embedded in client companies such as Arden Group’s Gelson’s Markets grocery chain, Montroy Supply Company graphics and logistics multi-state operations, and C&L Refrigeration Corporation. He contracted with publicly-traded BBSI Corporation as a human resources consultant, and was responsible for strategic planning, implementing new policies and procedures, employee training, workforce restructuring, compensation structures, employee relations, workers compensation claims management, and integrating the work cultures for over 65 client companies.

Michael earned his Juris Doctor from Whittier College, School of Law, and is a licensed attorney in the State of Maryland. He is finalizing his Masters of Arts in Humanities from California State University Dominguez Hills. He holds membership in the Society of Human Resources Management, and is a current and past president of several non-profit philanthropic organizations.
